Delivery & arrival care

Change-of-mind returns are generally not accepted for live plants, moss, terrariums, fragile glassware and customised or handmade arrangements.

ADA Power Sand Basic is a nutrient-rich, porous volcanic substrate base layer designed for planted aquariums. This is Size S (1 litre), recommended for aquariums with a water depth of 40 cm or below.

Key Features

  • Nutrient-rich composition: Combines porous volcanic materials with organic nutrients, delayed-release inorganic nutrients, Bacter 100, and Clear Super to jumpstart substrate micro-organisms.
  • Healthy water circulation: Mixed-size porous granules prevent compaction and anaerobic conditions (root rot) by maintaining continuous water and oxygen flow through the bottom layer.
  • Long-term plant growth: Supplies a steady, long-term release of minerals tailored for heavy root-feeding plants like Echinodorus and Cryptocoryne.

How to Use

  1. Base layer: Spread an even layer (about 1–2 cm) on the clean, dry bottom of the aquarium.
  2. Cover: Completely cap the Power Sand with your main plant substrate (such as Aqua Soil) to prevent nutrient leaching into the water column and avoid algae blooms.
  3. Fill & cycle: Add water gently and cycle the tank before introducing fish or shrimp.
