Cystorchis 'Red Papua' is a rare jewel orchid from Papua prized for its deep red-toned, richly patterned foliage, a bold and uncommon addition for serious terrarium collectors.
- Light: Prefers low to medium indirect light, mimicking the dappled shade of its native rainforest floor. Direct sun will scorch the leaves.
- Moisture: Likes consistently moist soil, never waterlogged. Water when the top layer starts to dry, and mist regularly to replicate humid forest floor conditions.
- Humidity: Needs high humidity, ideally 70-85%, making closed or mostly closed terrariums essential for long-term success.
- Potting medium: A well-draining, airy mix of sphagnum moss, orchid bark, and perlite supports healthy roots while holding enough moisture.
- Temperature: Prefers warm, stable conditions between 20-27°C, away from cold drafts or sudden temperature swings.
A rare, richly colored jewel orchid for collectors looking to add something truly distinctive to their terrarium.
