Nepenthes mirabilis x Viking combines the hardy, adaptable nature of mirabilis with the bold, dramatic pitchers of the Viking line, resulting in a vigorous carnivorous hybrid that's both striking and relatively easy to grow.
- Light: Needs bright, indirect light for several hours a day to develop strong pitcher color and size. Gentle morning sun is fine, but avoid harsh midday direct sun.
- Moisture: Keep the growing medium consistently moist, never fully dry. Use distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water to avoid mineral buildup from tap water.
- Humidity: Thrives at high humidity, ideally 60-80%, though this hybrid tolerates lower humidity better than many other Nepenthes thanks to its mirabilis parentage.
- Potting medium: Use a low-nutrient, well-draining mix such as sphagnum moss combined with perlite and orchid bark. Avoid regular potting soil or added fertilizer.
- Feeding: Pitchers catch insects naturally; no manual feeding is needed indoors under normal conditions.
- Temperature: Prefers warm, stable conditions between 20-30°C, away from cold drafts.
