Rabbit’s Foot Fern – Large Mature Plant with Multiple Furry Rhizomes
Lush, mature Rabbit’s Foot Fern with multiple furry rhizomes—perfect for terrariums, hanging planters, and humid indoor spaces.
Bring a touch of the forest floor home with the wonderfully unusual Rabbit’s Foot Fern (Davallia sp.).
Named after its distinctive soft, furry creeping rhizomes, which resemble tiny rabbit feet, this fern develops an enchanting character as it matures. The rhizomes gradually crawl across the surface while producing graceful green fronds, creating a beautifully wild and natural appearance.
Our plants are large, established specimens with multiple “feet”, making them particularly suitable for creating an immediate visual impact rather than waiting for a young plant to mature.
Rabbit’s Foot Ferns work beautifully in larger terrariums, vivariums, tropical displays, kokedama, hanging baskets and decorative indoor planters. Their creeping growth habit also makes them excellent for naturalistic rainforest-style installations.
They prefer bright filtered light, good humidity and a moist but well-draining growing medium. Avoid keeping the rhizomes permanently buried or waterlogged; allowing them to creep naturally across the surface gives the plant its characteristic appearance.
Please note: As this is a living plant, the exact size, shape, number of fronds and rhizomes will naturally vary from specimen to specimen.
